We have been breeding and selling Peruvian Horses since 1998. Due to a back injury of my wife, Melody, we purchased a part blood mare in 1996. Looking for a stallion to breed her to led to our purchase of a full blood Peruvian stallion named El Zorro Rojo. She fell in love with this horse, riding him to town and camping alone with him all over the Buffalo River here in NW AR. He was a fantastic ambassador to the breed, giving rides to children and adults alike. This led to our purchasing full Peruvian mares. Since Zorro's passing at age 23 of colon cancer we have acquired another breeding stallion, CKG Cantero. We now have a full Peruvian mare and a part blood mare with him. He is available for breeding to your mares, pasture breeding only, no shipped semen is available. It has been a joy to raise gentle sane strong trail riding horses for others to enjoy who have back issues and just want to safely enjoy trail riding. We have trained a lot ourselves, although due to age we rarely do this anymore. We have had Eddie Quitierrez train for us lately and he does such a wonderful job that we recommend him to anyone looking for a trainer in our area of the Midwest.

Master trainer Roberto Quijandría’s gentle touch and quiet confidence are the foundation for producing gentle, responsive horses. The hot-blooded Peruvians of La Estancia Alegre are known for their success in the show ring and on the rugged trails of New Mexico and elsewhere thanks to his patience and skill. Roberto grew up training horses in his native Peru, and since he arrived in the United States more than 35 years ago, he’s worked with hundreds of horses to hone his craft. Whether it’s a complicated Peruvian reining pattern or a simple water crossing, Roberto brings out the best in a horse.
