ON GOING NAPHA GOALS |
|
|
| |
In 2004 it became very apparent that both the PPHRNA and the AAOBPPH
were on the verge of bankruptcy. The impending retirement of
long-time PPHRNA Executive Director Janetta Michael, made it
imperative that changes be made. A group of horse owners got
together enough money to pay off the PPHRNA's debts and start up
NAPHA. Large attorney's fees were incurred in trying to complete the
merger. When the merger failed, the group pledged to underwrite the
$100,000 per year operating expenses of NAPHA for two years. NAPHA
is now
in the position of trying to generate positive cash flow from
operations by January, 2007.
NAPHA has several goals.
1. To staff the NAPHA office with competent, helpful people.
2. To eventually set aside enough funds to implement a comprehensive
advertising campaign to make the general public aware of the
Peruvian horse.
3. To redesign an interactive website for the use of our members.
4. To provide more communications between the members and the
association.
5. To work with clubs and their members to build NAPHA from the
ground up. Any organization must have a good foundation on which to
build.
These are lofty goals and they cost money. Many people are donating
their time and energies to make them a reality.
NAPHA is a not-for-profit organization devoted to promoting the
Peruvian Horse and it's owners. Non-profit organizations do not make
donations to other non-profit organizations. For NAPHA to redirect
funds, that have been donated to us, would be a gross misuse of
money intended to promote the Peruvian horse.
