PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE NAPHA ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP CONFERENCE

Our annual membership conference in the beautiful wine country of Temecula, California, is coming up quickly!  Please save the dates of March 27-28, 2015, and join us in the general membership meeting and the popular Saturday clinic.

The meeting will be held at the Embassy Suites Temecula Valley Wine Country on Friday.  Lunch will be provided. The room rate of $139.00 per night (two night minimum stay) includes a very nice breakfast.  Reservations should be made by February 9 at (951) 676-5656. Please add that you are with the NAPHA group.

The popular clinic will be held on Saturday and hosted by Frank and Merlene Sutalo at their beautiful Paseo del Traza Ranch, only about 10 minutes from the hotel. A barbecue lunch will be served by an award-winning local catering service.

This conference is a very important event and a great opportunity for all to work together on behalf of our national organization. The clinic is proving to be an outstanding educational opportunity to discuss our breed regardless of your personal discipline.

It’s also a great social event for our members from across the nation to gather and enjoy our beautiful horses! Stay an extra day or two, visit some ranches, tour the wineries and enjoy some of the many fun activities in the Temecula area.

For those flying in, both the Ontario Airport and the San Diego Airport are about an hour from the hotel. Make your reservations early to secure the best rates.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our main office or one of your board members. We sure hope to see you there!

The Board of Directors is proud to announce this year’s special award recipients who will be honored at the conference dinner on Friday evening at the hotel. These awards are presented in recognition of members who have served our breed by their dedication  and support of the Peruvian horse. We hope all will attend the dinner and join us in acknowledging these members.

Terry and Roberta Ellis, Florida

Jerry and Frances Freeman, Texas

Frank and Merlene Sutalo, California

Congratulations to this year’s award winners!

THE JUDGES FOR THE 2015 NATIONAL SHOW

We are pleased to announce that Andres Salinas, Amador Carrera and Dr. Francisco Marcucci have been selected to judge the 2015 U.S. National Show October 9-11, 2015, in Wichita Falls, Texas. For the first time, our show will be judged by a 3-person system that allows each judge to select his choices separately from the other judges. This new system comes in response to member feedback requesting a new process for reviewing our horses. Prior to the show, we will share more details about how this new system works so members can fully understand the process.

SPECIAL TRAINERS’ COMMITTEE AND YEAR-END AWARD

Your Board of Directors has worked to compile a list of trainers across the nation. A letter in both English and Spanish has been drafted and mailed to potential participants to explain the program, which will be run by a committee of trainers. This committee will establish criteria for the year-end award and make the final selection of the yearly winner. The winning trainer will pick up his or her award at the U.S. National Show.  We ask that our employer members will help us spread the word of this new opportunity to their training staff. Questions may be directed to board members Carolyn Mittrick, [email protected], or Pamela Harris-Castañeda at [email protected].

2015 NAPHA DIRECTORY / ANUARIO

NAPHA is pleased to offer a new member benefit this year: the 2015 directory and anuario. We are offering members a wide variety of options to advertise in the publication, to include advertising on our NAPHA website and our online community, Peruvian Horse World. Traffic on both sites is increasing, and both sites specifically target and cater to Peruvian horse lovers. Money raised through all sponsorships and ads will fund national marketing efforts to promote our breed.
