Interested in getting more involved with NAPHA? Our committees play an important role in supporting the mission and future of the organization. Members who are interested in serving on a committee are invited to complete the interest form on the NAPHA website.
NAPHA Online Membership Directory is Now Live!
We’re excited to announce that the new NAPHA Online Membership Directory is officially live on the NAPHA website! This updated, searchable directory makes it easier than ever to connect with fellow members across the country. You can search by state, services offered, or both. Whether you are looking for breeders, trainers, show services, or regional contacts, it is all now at your fingertips.
If you would like to have your information included, please take a moment to complete the submission form on the NAPHA website. Once submitted, your listing will be added to the directory.
We are excited to continue strengthening our network and supporting our members.
Apply for a $400 NAPHA Outreach Grant!
Most potential horse buyers begin their search close to home, which means local promotion of the Peruvian Horse is more important than ever. To support our clubs and members in showcasing this amazing breed, NAPHA is pleased to offer a $400 grant to help fund Meet the Peruvian Horse events and other outreach activities.
Whether you are planning demonstrations, educational presentations, or community engagement activities, this grant is designed to help you share the beauty and versatility of the Peruvian Horse with new audiences.
Clubs interested in applying can complete the Outreach Grant Application, which includes basic event information, volunteer and sponsor lists, activity plans, and your publicity strategy. After your event, we ask that clubs submit a visitor log (if available) and a short event write-up for inclusion in a future NAPHA newsletter.
This is a wonderful opportunity to grow our community and introduce more people to our incredible breed. We encourage all clubs to participate!
Regional Club Spotlight: Celebrating Our Community Across the Country
Regional Club Presidents are invited to submit photos and brief write-ups of your recent or upcoming events. Whether it’s a show, trail ride, clinic, or community outreach effort, we’d love to share your story. Please send your submissions directly to Bill Willis at [email protected].
NAPHA Judges Clinic
The NAPHA Judges Clinic will be held in Texas at the end of February and will be a judges-only event. This clinic will provide an opportunity for NAPHA carded judges to come together for in-depth discussion and alignment on judging criteria, gait, conformation, and the Peruvian Horse breed standard. Participants will also review the proper execution and evaluation of performance classes. This clinic supports consistency, education, and excellence in judging across NAPHA-sanctioned events.
NAPHA Recreational Riding Program
Free to NAPHA members. The NAPHA Recreational Riding Program has been established to give national recognition to the pleasure and competitive rider and their Peruvian Horse for time in the saddle outside of traditional Peruvian Horse Shows. For each “hour landmark” reached, return the hours log and you will receive a Recreational Riding Patch and certificate — plus one of many great awards!
How to Participate
- You must be a NAPHA member and maintain membership for each year in which hours are counted.
- Indicate your interest in the program by filling out and uploading a completed Excel file to register as a JOR (Joy of Riding) member.
- The Recreational Riding Program is maintained on the “honor” system.
- Hours may be logged for all time spent riding except at NAPHA Approved Shows. Eligible activities include pleasure, trail, arena, demonstrations, drills, open horse shows, parades, and more.
- You do not need to own the horse(s) ridden, but the horse(s) used for the program must be NAPHA registered or a Part-Blood registered with the PPP-BR.
- No time limit.
- Rider records hours in the Excel file and uploads it using the form on the NAPHA website when a goal of 50, 100, 250, 500, or 1,000 hours is reached.
