For more than 30 years, NAPHA members Mike and Sandy Moszer have been ambassadors for the Peruvian Horse at the Minnesota State Fair. Each summer, they’re invited to bring their horses for a three-day stay on the Fair’s famous “Aisle of Breeds,” a popular destination where an estimated 10,000 visitors pass through daily.

Their display is more than just horses in the barn—it’s an experience. Mike and Sandy set up traditional Peruvian tack, share brochures and handouts, and offer one-on-one conversations about the breed and NAPHA. They’ve also gathered contact information from curious visitors who want to learn more. Over the years, their efforts have sparked lasting friendships and even led to horse sales to new enthusiasts who first discovered the Peruvian Horse at the Fair.

At times, the Moszers have joined other gaited breeds in demonstrations inside the Coliseum, where up to 5,000 spectators can see the smooth elegance of the Peruvian Horse in motion. These moments have brought the breed’s unique qualities to life for countless onlookers.

For Mike and Sandy, their love of Peruvians extends beyond the fairgrounds. As active members of the Northern Lights Club, they enjoy trail rides, shows, breeding programs, and simply the camaraderie that comes with being part of “the Peruvian Horse World.” Their message to other owners is simple: take every chance you can to share the joys of this remarkable breed with others.
